This is the User guide for the Pulse solution. This user guide is intended for the Pulse Administrator, who will set up the Pulse solution so end users can create and manage surveys.
Today’s workforce expects a voice in their organisation. People want to share observations and opinions about their experiences at the time and place that makes sense to them. Most companies know that something has to change. In fact, according to Deloitte, 90% of business leaders are rethinking their Employee Engagement approaches.
An annual engagement survey is no longer enough to drive results. In order to realise significant results, you need to foster an environment where feedback is continuous, and to empower people at all levels of the organisation to gather insights that are relevant in their world. Simply put, you need the power to listen to your people and transform their voices into meaningful insight.
The Pulse solution allows end users to run surveys at any time. They will use a wizard to select questions for the survey, select who should be invited to particpate (sample), define when to send invitations and reminders and when the survey should close, and then launch the survey. When the survey is finally closed, they can easily review the results.
Empowerment is key, but too much autonomy can lead to questionable data and over-surveying of your workforce. Pulse therefore lets you choose how much flexibility to offer your teams, with the option to specify mandatory and optional survey content within your survey templates.
Note: This user guide is a generic document for the Pulse solution. Much of the content of the surveys created using Pulse will vary, so some of the examples and screen-shots presented in this document may not relate directly to your setup.
When the end user starts to create a survey they do not have to complete it in the one session; they can postpone the process or abandon it at any point during the setup. Note that once a survey has been launched, the end user can not make any further changes to the content of the survey. The surveys can however be found in the Horizons Professional Authoring or Survey Designer platforms, so any changes required after launch will have to be made by someone with Professional User access and Company Administrate permission.
Note: Changes made to Pulse surveys outside Pulse can cause inconsistencies and errors if users for example remove questions or email nodes that are used in Pulse. Professional Users should therefore be careful and only do minimal changes to Pulse surveys in Professional Authoring or Survey Designer.
